Grace Lutheran Church is a community of believers dedicated to Showing Everyone Life in Christ while Sharing with Everyone the Love of Christ.
Grace Lutheran Church is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) and a part of The SELC District, a non-geographical district with congregations in 12 states and 2 Canadian provinces.
Grace Lutheran Church came into existence on January 1, 2003 as a result of a merger between Pentecost Lutheran Church and Sts. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, both of Lakewood, Ohio. The congregation worships on the campus of the former Sts. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church.
As a member congregation of the LCMS, we believe, teach, and confess the Triune God:
- The Father, Creator of all that exists.
- Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan.
- The Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal, one God.
Grace, Faith, Scripture
We affirm the three-fold emphasis of the Lutheran Reformation: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone.
Grace Alone: God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
Faith Alone: By His suffering and death as the Substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him
Scripture Alone: The Bible is the inspired Word of God (2nd Timothy 3:16) in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the only rule and norm for Christian doctrine, faith, and life.
Grace Lutheran Church is a confessional Lutheran Church that affirms The Book of Concord (1580) to be faithful and true interpretations of the Holy Scripture, the only source and norm of all Christian teaching.
